Translational research in Progeria and related defective prelamin A processing associated syndromes

The group of Prof Nicolas Levy has identified the involvement of the Laminin (LMNA) and the associated Zinc Metallopeptidase (ZMPSTE24) in the pathogenesis of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disorder type 2B1, Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome, and Restrictive Dermopathy wich are human disorders belonging to the group of Laminopathies.

His group has also identified the role of Dysferlin in various muscular dystrophies.
