Bio
Michael Cangkrama earned his PhD from Monash University, Australia in the laboratory of Prof. Stephen Jane working on the mechanisms underpinning skin barrier development and maintenance. In 2015, he joined Prof. Sabine Werner’s laboratory at the Swiss National Institute of Technology (ETH) Zürich, Switzerland. An exciting aspect of his current research is the analysis of the parallels between tissue repair and cancer at the molecular and cellular level, with a focus on the role of growth factors and matrisomes. In addition, he is currently developing new therapeutic strategies targeting the epithelialstromal crosstalk for the treatment of skin fibrosis and cancer.
