Genetics of Congenital heart disease from Beirut to Melbourne: A Collaboration and more

Bio

Elie Sawan, MD graduated from the Medical School, Faculty of Medical Sciences at the Lebanese University in 2008 and took his residency training in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (2009- 2014) at Hotel-Dieu De France Hospital, University of Saint Joseph in Beirut, Lebanon.

Following that, Elie completed his training in Paediatric Cardiac Surgery at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia (2014-2016).

Elie received his qualifications as Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon from the University of Saint Joseph in 2016, and currently occupies the positions of Paediatric Cardiovascular Surgeon at Hotel-Dieu De France University Hospital and Teacher at Saint Joseph University.

Elie has been working as a clinician and surgeon in the field of congenital heart disease for several years but is also involved in cardiovascular research projects within the Biomolecular and Genetics Lab at the University of SaintJoseph and a human genetic screening project in collaboration with the Ramialison Lab at the ARMI. Elie is an active member of the RFMCC.
